Biography

Divakaran Liginlal (Lal) is an Associate Teaching Professor of Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University. Lal holds a B.S. in Telecommunication Engineering from CET, a M.S. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science, and a Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Arizona. Before joining Carnegie Mellon, Lal taught at the University of Wisconsin - Madison's School of Business, where he was a recipient of the Mabel Chipman Award for Faculty Excellence in Teaching. Lal has also won teaching awards at CMU's Qatar campus and the University of Arizona. His research in information security and decision support systems has been published in CACM, IEEE-TKDE, IEEE-SMC and EJOR.
