Dr. Savanid (Nui) Vatanasakdakul

Dr. Nui Vatanasakdakul is an Associate Teaching Professor in Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to CMU appointment, she has 10 years of experience in the tenure-track position as senior lecturer in information systems at Macquarie University, Australia, which is equivalent to associate professor in the US system. During 2002 to 2007, she taught at various Australian universities including University of Sydney, University of New South Wales and University of Wollongong. She has worked as an IT consultant for Deloitte prior to entering academia. Dr. Nui holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of New South Wales, where she received a prestigious Australian Postgraduate Scholarship Award (2004 to 2007). Dr. Nui has more than 15 years research and teaching experiences in fields of IT risk management and governance, strategic fit and alignment in information technology transfer to Asia, culture and technology utilization. She is the author of over 50 international peer review journal, conference and book publications. She has been awarded research grant totaling over $250,000 AUD. She chairs over 20 international research tracks in leading informational systems conferences. She has been appointed as the editorial board member of the Journal of Global Information Technology Management. She is an active member of the Association of Information Systems. She served as committee member and co-founder of special interest group in Green Information Systems since 2013 till 2019. She also serves as research track/mini track co-chairs for AMCIS and ECIS since 2009 till present. She was invited as faculty research mentor for a doctoral consortium at the ACIS conference. She received the Teaching award for innovative teaching and curriculum development in 2010. She was the co-founder of the Business Information Systems major at Macquarie University in 2012. In 2020, she has won the Meritorious Teaching Awards, which is a life time teaching award giving to academic at Carnegie Mellon University.
